The 23 cm Satake Diamond Coated Sharpening Steel. The core of the sharpening steel is solid steel and therefore rust-free. The surface is specially coated with up to 2 million diamond grits. The additional hard chrome layer gives the surface even greater wear resistance.
How do you use a sharpening steel?
Why a sharpening steel? If your knife is already in good condition, you can sharpen it a bit with a honing steel. You run the knife along the honing rod before cutting. With a honing steel, you don\'t sharpen; you simply align the blade\'s microparticles, sharpening the whole thing.
Simple and fast Sharpen your knife quickly with a sharpening rod. A sharpening rod removes a relatively large amount of steel from your knife in a single pass. If you were to sharpen your knife every day with a sharpening rod, there would be very little left of your knife.
