Exclusively Prepared for the Urasenke School - Konnishian of Tea Ceremony
Shoun No Mukashi, meaning “Remembrance of the Pine Cloud,” is a high-grade koicha matcha meticulously crafted by Marukyu Koyamaen and exclusively designated for use by the Urasenke school.
To preserve the delicate flavor of matcha, proper storage is essential.
Once opened, transfer the tea to an airtight container (such as a ziplock bag) and keep it in the refrigerator.
If you don’t plan to use it soon, freezing is highly recommended. Matcha does not solidify in the freezer, so there are no problems storing it this way.
Avoid room temperature storage, as the tea will lose its freshness quickly.
Marukyu Koyamaen matcha typically has a shelf life of 6–7 months, and we ship freshly ground matcha within 2 weeks of production to ensure the best flavor.
Founded in the early 18th century, Marukyu Koyamaen has been producing premium Japanese tea for over 350 years in Uji, Kyoto. Best known for its exceptional matcha, Koyamaen is highly respected among tea ceremony practitioners around the world. Its teas not only embody the essence of Japanese tradition but also play an important role in sharing the spirit of the tea ceremony globally.
