Detailed information on Fo Shou \'Buddha Hand\' Oolong Tea

Fo Shou \'Buddha Hand\' is a Min Nan oolong tea from Yong Chun county 永春县. Yong Chun county borders Anxi county (home of many of our Oolong teas including our range of Tie Guan Yin oolong teas).

Yong Chun county produces several classic Fujian oolongs, many of which are rarely available even within China. Wan Ling is pleased to expand her range of the region\'s local teas with this Fo Shou \"Buddha Hand\" tea, named after its large leaves.

The tea is produced by Mr Chen, who also makes our Abandoned Garden oolong tea and Mao Xie \"Hairy Crab\" oolong tea. Mr Chen takes considered care with each step of the production process and is keen not to rush the process; even the final baking over wood-charcoal is usually done several months after the main production stages are complete and takes several days, at low temperatures.

Our Fo Shou Oolong tea is produced in a very tradtional, hand-made style and we are proud to have it in our range.

We have given this a medium sort, meaning that we kept some of the stalks in the tea. This adds some additional depth to the flavour and from a TCM point of view, help balancing elements of the tea.
