Tieguanyin (literally iron bodhisattva) has many stories. What the legend has in common is that the tea trees are related to Guanyin (Bodhisattva), so the name of the tea contains the word \"Guanyin\". There are two explanations for the word \"iron\": One is that the leaves of the tea tree are shining \"iron\" under the sun, and the other is that after the tea is fermented, \"tea is like iron\". Tieguanyin (Fragrant) contains the most abundant types of aroma components, and the fragrance is rich and long-lasting, and has the reputation of \"fragrance even after seven infusions\".

鐵觀音的故事很多。傳說的共同點是，茶樹都與觀音菩薩有關，故而茶名之中有「觀音」二字。而之所以冠以「鐵」字，又有兩種解釋：一是由於茶樹葉片在太陽下閃爍着「鐵色」之光，另一種說法是茶經過發酵後，「茶色如鐵」。高香鐵觀音所含的香氣成分種類最為豐富，香氣馥郁持久，有“七泡有餘香”之譽。
