HOT ! Gyokuro

Translated as \"Jewel Dew,\" this exquisite Japanese green tea is made from the leaf tips plucked during the first flush, seasonal harvest. These leaves are gathered from bushes largely cultivated in deep shade. Before the harvest, the bushes are covered with straw shades to slow their growth and thereby naturally catalyze production of copious levels of chlorophyll, antioxidant-rich catechins and dazzling flavor components. The flat, sharply pointed leaves produce an emerald-jade green ‘liquor’ (the brewed tea) with a sublimely vegetal flavor, yet delicate sensory character. The result is an exquisite tea perfect for serving to special guests, or before or after meditation, yoga or other respite.
