Tea Cultivation in Xishuangbanna can be traced back all the way to the Tang Dynasty. The old ancestral tea gardens still produce tea to this day. The extremely rare and unique Sheng or (raw) Pu erh tea is a must try for the advanced Pu erh tea enthusiast. It is cultivated form Ancient Da Ye or (large leaf) variety single trunk tea trees. It has a very sweet initial taste with a \"Chao Qing\" or stir roasted light smoky aftertaste which makes this tea incredible and a must try. This tea is available in twenty, fifty, seventy five and one hundred gram options.
