Keep these essential tips in mind:

• Tackle one nail at a time. Magnetic polish dries quickly, so focus on perfecting each nail before moving on.


• Act fast! As soon as you apply the lacquer, grab your magnet—it won’t wait for you.


• Lay it on thick. A generous coat of polish helps the magnetic pigments shift and settle into crisp designs.


• 
  Be sure to thoroughly shake your lacquer bottles before using. Magnetic pigments contain generally heavier metallic particles that often settle at the bottom of the bottle during shipping or that has been sitting for a while. Make sure you’re getting the most out of your bottle by mixing them prior to use!
  


• IMPORTANT!! Re-magnetize after top coat. Your top coat reactivates the polish slightly, which can cause your design to blur. Using the magnet again helps lock everything in place!

SHARPEST CAT EYE

For the boldest, most dramatic cat eye effect, this is the preferred technique.

Steps:

1. Apply a thick, even coat of magnetic polish to your nail.

2. Immediately hold the magnet at an angle, keeping it as close as possible without touching.

3. Stay still for about 30 seconds—no peeking! Let the magic happen.

4. Move on to the next nail and repeat.

5. Want a more intense look? Apply another coat and repeat steps 2-3 until you reach the opacity you love.

6. Once dry, seal it with Nail Armor (Quick Dry) top coat and immediately hold the magnet over the nail again for 30 seconds. Repeat for each nail. (This step keeps your design crisp and prevents any softening.)

EASY CAT EYE (BEGINNER-FRIENDLY)

The easiest method to and easiest for beginners to practice using our magnetic lacquers.

Steps:

1. Position your magnet underneath your nail.

2. Apply a thick coat of magnetic polish.

3. Keep your hand steady and hold for about 30 seconds while it sets.

4. Repeat for each nail.

5. Add more depth! Apply additional coats, following steps 1-3, until you reach your desired opacity.

6. When it’s time for Nail Armor (Quick Dry) top coat, hold the magnet under your nail again for 30 seconds. (This prevents the design from blurring as your top coat dries.)

VELVET EFFECT

Looking for something soft, yet mesmerizing and dreamy? The velvet technique gives a plush, diffused look that’s just as captivating as a cat eye.

 Steps:

1. Apply a thick coat of magnetic polish.

2. Right away, take the round end of your magnet and move it side to side along the edge of your nail. Keep this motion going for about 30 seconds while the polish sets. (NOTE: the round end of the cat eye magnet is one of many different magnets that can be used to achieve this effect.)

3. Repeat for each nail.

4. Build up the effect! Apply additional coats and repeat steps 1-2 until you reach the perfect level of depth.

5. Once dry, apply Nail Armor (Quick Dry) top coat (or your favorite Nail Armor top coat) and wave the round end of the magnet back and forth along the side again for 30 seconds. Repeat for all nails. (This locks in the velvety look and prevents any fading.)
