Detailed information on Artek Aalto Chair 65 — Black Top (New In-stock, Final Sale)

Originally designed by Alvar Aalto in 1935, the 65 chair formed part of his iconic L-leg collection. Aalto created the collection after experimenting with bending wood in the early 1920s, before patenting his technique in 1933.

The 65 chair is constructed from solid birch ply finished with a clear lacquer in order to allow the natural wood to be the focal point. The rectangular backrest is also constructed from form pressed birch plywood and curves for a comfortable support.

Legs and backrest natural lacquered, seat black linoleum.
