This is an Eames MAX arm shell chair, originally designed by Ray and Charles Eames in the 1950s. This particular example was produced by Herman Miller in the USA C. 1954. The chair is comprised of a fiberglass shell seat in red/orange atop a steel X-base. MAX is an acronym for Medium Arm X Base Chair.
The chair measures 25 inches deep, 23.5 inches wide, and 27.25 inches high. It has a seat height of 16 inches and arm height of 23 inches. The fiberglass shell has sun faded spots on it. Otherwise, the chair is in very good condition with expected wear from use. Please see photos.
