Gilt bronze. Just over 7/8 (0.88”) in width. Near flat section of exaggerated form with the cusp curved and nubbed quarter points. Central motif of crossed skeletal trefoils. Made by the open-face mold technique. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, and integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored on an 18” gilt sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
