Designed by Danish furniture designers Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen, the Mat Collection embodies innovation and environmental circularity. Named \'Mat\' as an abbreviation for \'materials\', this series of chairs is crafted from highly renewable and durable hemp and eelgrass, a type of seaweed. Developed through extensive research, these natural materials not only reduce environmental impact but also showcase their inherent beauty and tactile qualities.The chair is primarily made from two components: hemp, a type of cannabis plant, and eelgrass, a marine plant similar to seaweed. The shells were crafted from hemp stems, while the seaweed variant utilised dried eelgrass collected from the Danish coast. These materials were used in the injection moulding process to create the chair\'s shell instead of using plastic.Featuring a curved seat in a neutral tone, the chair\'s organic design provides maximum comfort. Its simple yet minimalistic style makes it versatile for uses from dining to office settings.It is also available in a front-upholstered or full-upholstered version.
