NOTES:
Obsidian is an igneous rock occurring as a natural glass that was formed millions of years ago by the rapid cooling of lava from volcanoes. As a glass it can break. Our CACTO plaque is a hand-cut piece of art, so you must take care of it. If you drop it and the plaque hits the floor it will break.
In the prehispanic world, obsidian was considered by Aztecs and Mayans a magical and sacred stone that could drive away negative energies and cure illnesses. It was also used to make mirrors, jewelry for rituals, masks, and weapons such as arrowheads and knives. It is the most significant rock in Mexican culture. Our obsidian comes from the central valley of Mexico, the area where the Aztec empire was located.
Packaging
We strive to strike a balance between reducing packaging waste to a minimum while providing a quality unboxing experience. We use 200# test shipping boxes, which means that the box can withstand pressure of up to 200 lbs per square inch before bursting. We recommend you use it to store your CACTO product when you are not using it.
Packaging creates waste that pollutes the environment. It also adds weight and volume to products, increasing the fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions associated with transportation.
Reusing the box to keep your product safe, extends its lifetime, reduces the product\'s material footprint (because we don\'t have to make another box), reduces waste/energy usage, and saves you money.
