Detailed information on Obsidian

Obsidian is a handwoven natural fibre rug from our Tribal Collection, crafted by skilled artisans on a base of Bushveld Tan bouclé yarn from our Texture Collection. Known for its warm, earthy tone and softly looped surface, Bushveld Tan creates a rich, tactile foundation that brings depth and quiet warmth to the design.

The rug incorporates Black Beauty–dyed Karakul wool alongside Etosha bouclé yarn, creating a layered interplay of texture and tone. The deep black Karakul moves across the Bushveld Tan base with bold clarity, while the Etosha yarn introduces a lighter, softly textured counterpoint. Together, these fibres create a grounded, material-driven composition.

This thoughtful blend reflects the Tribal Collection’s emphasis on authentic fibres, natural variation, and expressive craftsmanship, where the inherent qualities of each yarn shape the visual rhythm of the rug.

Renowned for their softness, durability, and resilience, Karakul wool and mohair bouclé fibres provide a comfortable underfoot feel while maintaining the rug’s structure over time. Expertly handwoven, Obsidian carries the authenticity of traditional weaving while presenting a refined aesthetic suited to contemporary interiors.

As a luxury heirloom-quality rug, Obsidian is designed to endure while complementing a wide range of interiors. Its rich palette, tactile depth, and natural fibres make it ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, lodges, and hospitality interiors, bringing depth, character, and quiet sophistication to both minimal and expressive spaces.
