Detailed information on Vintage Sarouk Mat - 2’3 x 2’11

This Sarouk rug was handwoven during the second quarter of the 20th century.

It features a deep navy central medallion on a crimson ground. The field is filled with fine floral sprays and balanced by four scalloped cornices woven in light blue. The border is composed of a straightforward floral meander in the same deep navy almost black ground of the central medallion.

In very good condition, with even wear throughout. The pile is low and hardwearing with a dense hefty handle.
