Detailed information on 9’6 x 11’4 Turkish Kilim Rug MCM Dark Brown Vintage Flatweave \'1000

This gorgeous kilim from Turkey is made with pure natural goat hair.
It is a Chadur made from tent covers by nomadic tribes in the mountains of Tarsus.

This one is 2 symmetrical pieces sewn together making one large area rug. One side has more cream wool woven throughout and a decorative border.
The pieces are sewn together horizontally so the seam would be side to side rather than up and down...

Natural goat hair comes in various shades and intensities of brown and cream resulting in a gorgeous brown “tweed”.

Circa 1970’s

Actual size is 9’6” x 11’4”

It has been professionally washed and restored.
