Description: A beautiful 19th century enameled and paint decorated hand blown glass tumbler or flip. The tumbler has a flat base with a recessed center. The flip has slightly outwards flared straight sides rising to a plain rim. The exterior is decorated with white and orange enameling forming a beautiful floral design surrounded by white leaves. There is also remnants of gold garlands with hanging leaves hanging below a blue painted band at the top. The blue band is also decorated with a beautiful white enameled dotted floral design. Just a great looking glass. There is also a gold colored band along the rim. The flip is of clear glass and is just beautiful. The piece has a very nice ring to it when you tap it. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Circa early 19th century. Origin: Purchased in Amsterdam Holland, where it most likely originated. Size: The piece measures ~2\" in diameter at the base, ~2 5/8\" in diameter at the top, and is ~4\" high. It weighs a little over 3 ounces. Maker: Unknown Marks: Unmarked. Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a beautiful antique with nice and unusual enameled decoration that is in great shape after almost 200 years or so of being around. A great addition to any antique glass collection. Condition: The tumbler is in very good condition. It has no cracks, breaks or repairs. It does some roughness along the rim due to very small chips all along the rim. It also has a minor amount of the normal defects which occurs when making hand blown glass implements such as air bubbles and inclusions. It also has losses in the gold coloring along the rim and portions of the garland below the blue painted band on top. It also has some minor losses to the enameling and minor scratches to the surface of the glass. However, none of these issues distract from the beauty or quality of the piece. Please see photos to appreciate the beauty and for additional condition information about this great piece.
