This rug was handwoven by the artisans of Anzal.
Located about 30 km north of the renowned weaving town of Tazenakht, this women-only association was founded in 2007 and has thrived as women pass their craft down through generations. Fatima, the President of the Association, serves as our trusted liaison for all custom orders.
The Zanafi weaving technique originates from the High Atlas Mountains. Traditionally crafted in a neutral black-and-white palette, this technique can also be created in a variety of vibrant color combinations.
What makes this weaving style particularly unique is its reversible nature, with the symbols appearing inverted on the opposite side—a testament to its intricate craftsmanship.
