The panels have been hand sewn using the traditional roof and house stitch. This gives a strong visual and tactile design element.This is a hand made fabric by the Karen or Karian ethnic group of Thailand and Burma. It is hand woven on a traditional back-strap loom with cotton colored using natural, organic, vegetable dyes. This is a more expensive and time-consuming process than using chemical dyes but results in the enchanting character and soft hues of the colors you see in the photos.The dimensions are 82 inches long x 22 inches wide without the fringe. Dimensions might vary by a half inch in width and an inch in length due to the handmade nature.
