Outstanding New Zealand Jade Art, made to Wear!

THE RAPIDS is hand carved from New Zealand Pounamu and is a wonderful larger-sized adze design pendant. Carved from a mysterious and standout piece of stone, it is beautifully carved and finished.

This is best seen in the brief video we have taken of the piece slowly revolving.

THE RAPIDS is carved from a piece of local New Zealand Jade. The cord is a 3-plait black colour which can be length adjusted, and has a traditional black lashing.

THE RAPIDS is a beautiful piece of traditional jewellery.

The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.

The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life\'s challenges.
