Overview:

This vintage Moroccan boucherouite rug has a bright red base underneath an intersecting grid of navy and sky blue lines. Technically it\'s a handknotted rug, but the cotton fiber has worn down over time, giving it the feel of a flatweave rug. In some areas you can see the filler weave peaking through. A lot of the filler weave is actually made with recycled clothing and textiles. If you look closely, especially on the backside, you might be able to see some of the textiles poking through. That\'s one reason the underside of this rug is quite different from the top side. Moroccans will use both sides of the rug, switching it up throughout the year and depending upon the occasion. With older, handwoven rugs, the sizing sometimes varies (plus or minus) a few inches on either side. At its narrowest width, this rug measures 2\' 9\" across, and at its widest it measures 3\' 3\".
