These tumblers are small masterpieces of cased crystal glass. They are mouth-blown and engraved by hand. The fresh colors are produced using a traditional overlay technique. The glassmakers need to possess a high level of skill to be able to melt the two layers of glass one on top of the other, so that a colored layer encases the transparent glass. When the engraver cuts the pictures in the glass, the fine layer of color is removed to reveal the transparent layer underneath.
