Depending on the language, the word “north” has different origins and variances. In Mesoamerican languages, it often equates to “up”.

In Indo-European it is derived from the word for left, as north is what is to your left when facing the rising sun. In Lezgian, it can also mean “disbelief” in reference to the non-believers living to the north. In Greek, “borealis” refers to the god Boreas who brought the cool north wind and signified the coming of winter.

North is relative, other, synchronous. Like trees who are grounded yet projecting in to the sky. Many things at once.

For optimal burning

Before burning, trim wick to 1/4\". This will avoid soot. Burn for 2-4 hours every time, allowing the wax to liquify from edge to edge. Never leave a burning candle unattended and never try to move a candle while burning.
