Detailed information on Dobroyd Point in Cactus Flower

The unexpected beauty of rare desert blooms after soaking winter rains. Cactus blossom. Bergamot. Freesia. A floral phenomenon.

Dobroyd Point is a tranquil headland reserve in Sydney’s Inner West, celebrated for its expansive harbour views and natural coastal bushland. Located in Haberfield, the point overlooks the water where Sydney Harbour widens toward the city skyline and surrounding bays. Steeped in Sydney’s harbour landscape, the reserve features sandstone formations, native coastal vegetation, and walking paths that weave through quiet green spaces and nearby residential streets. Visitors are drawn to the lookout areas, where ferries and small boats glide across the harbour, framed by sparkling water, urban skyline views, and lush coastal greenery.

Borrowed magic from their wild landscape and preserved it in our candles. Mindfully poured among the gum trees, our soy wax candles are hand crafted in the Adelaide Hills with Australian fine fragrances enhanced with essential oils.

The Brigid McLaughlin Store is of historical significance, as it occupies the first store front built in Dobroyd Point in approximately 1915.
Courtesy of the Mitchell Library is the above photograph of the original single storey grocery shop, circa 1916-1920.
The 1915 Sands Directory records an Ernest Thorpe as the occupier.

Product Care

Trim your candle\'s wicks to 5mm before every single burn (yes, every single burn). This helps keep each flame at the right height for your vessel.

Never burn your candle for more than three hours in one session. This helps ensure an even burn and prevents your vessel from overheating.Placement matters. When your candle is lit, keep it away from draughts and flammable materials. Make sure it\'s out of reach of any kiddos or pets as well. When 1.5cm of wax remains, it\'s time to retire your candle. Don\'t worry, this isn\'t goodbye! Repurpose the vessel for use around your home.
